Mint, Ginger and Cucumber – Amazing Slimming Lemonade!

Lemonade is definitely one of the most refreshing drinks. It is both delicious and moisturizing. Yet, there is a way to prepare even more revitalizing drink that we believe will satisfy your sense of taste even more.  Besides lemon, it contains three very healthy ingredients: ginger, mint and cucumber. This drink will help you also to lose extra weight. In this article we will explain the benefits of these ingredients first, and then we will give you instruction how to prepare this healthy and potent weight loss drink.

The cucumber is very low on calories; 50 grams of it has only ten calories. It is so because it is made mainly of water, up to 96 %. Consuming raw cucumber makes you satiated, you will feel less hungry and you will consume less food. It is recommended to eat salad before meals because that is the best way to lose weight. Cucumber consumption benefits our body in a number of ways: it reforms the mucus of the digestive system, it protects the walls of the stomach, it cleanses the intestines because of its laxative properties, it combats fluid retention, it encourages detoxification, it regulates the uric acid levels, and helps to eliminate toxins from urine. Cucumber is not recommended for people that suffer from chronic gastritis, diarrhea, irritable bowel, or meteorism.

The ginger is commonly used as a spice. But, it is also known as an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, a stimulating agent that is rich vitamins, minerals, essential oils, and amino acids. It is also used as a sexual enlivener, for treatment of depression, dizziness, it helps with heart conditions, digestive problems, colds and flu, and arthritis,  it relieves  menstrual symptoms, headache, and stimulates blood circulation.

The mint has therapeutic properties. It fights spasms, acts as analgesic, and helps get rid of gas. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and is used in treatment of bronchitis, dry cough, etc. As an antiseptic it prevents expansion of microorganisms. Ascorbic acid, its content, facilitates the phlegm and mucus discharge to relieve the congestion of sinuses. The mint is helpful in treatment of eczemas and other skin problems. The lemon is widely used as it is rich in vitamins (C, B1), and minerals like phosphorus, calcium, iron, potassium, sodium, magnesium, and fluorine. Needed ingredients:

  •  water,  2 liters;
  •  cucumber (1 medium);
  •  lemons, 4;
  •  ginger root, 1 root;
  •  mint or peppermint, 10 leaves;


Cut cucumber, ginger root, and 1 lemon into tiny pieces. Make a lemon juice out of remaining 3 lemons.  Then put all the ingredients in the 2 liters of water. If you need to, add some stevia. Leave the mixture in a refrigerator for at least six hours. Than strain the liquid and drink it whenever you can. This drink is excellent for dehydrated people, or for the ones that don’t like drinking regular water in required amounts.
